Hey Astromomma Fam! I wanted to write a little something different today.
Many of you have come to me in personal readings regarding how to earn, invest and grow your finances.
In today’s wild + ever-changing economy, knowing your 2nd + 8th houses is like having a secret money compass. These houses show you not only how you naturally earn + attract income, but also how you can grow wealth, share resources, and adapt when times feel uncertain. Money is always a BIG topic of personal consultations and today I wanted to discuss how the 2nd and 8th houses in a natal chart are responsible for showing how you earn, accumulate and grow your finances.
The 2nd house in astrology is naturally ruled by the sign of Taurus and deals with what and who you value, how you earn based on your own efforts and your overall resources.
The 8th house in astrology is naturally ruled by the sign of Scorpio and deals with other people's values and resources, your ability to receive and inheritances/payouts.
Both of these houses and the signs that rule them tell a lot about how you will earn money, grow/invest money and any karma you have within your finances.
To make it simple, we will just look at the signs that rule these houses and not focus on any other planets that might reside in these houses in your natal birth chart.
I will use my own natal chart to further demonstrate the power of knowing the signs that rule the 2nd and 8th houses.
In my own natal chart, I have Sagittarius as my ascendant sign. The sign that rules my 2nd house is Capricorn. The sign that rules my 8th house is Cancer.
So in regards to how I earn money, who or what I value and my resources, which is what the 2nd house governs, I am very practical and disciplined with money. On the higher vibration, I am extremely motivated and resourceful with my finances and time. On the lower vibration, I can be a bit stingy and overly cautious with my finances. These are all very Capricornian traits which again rule this 2nd house.
In regards to how I receive money or resources from others and their contributions to my wealth, which is what the 8th house giverns, I am often very nurtured and a bit more emotional. Many times in my life I have had earth "angels" appear to take care of me and their contributions have led to major transformations in my life. On the higher vibration, I am someone who finds it comforting to be taken care of and nurtured by others' generosity. On the lower vibration, I can sometimes get moody or defensive when others try to "control" me with their own resources and contributions. You can see how others often give me a sense of security and comfort related to their giving nature which is all very Cancerian like which again rules my 8th house.
So you see how knowing how both the signs that rule the 2nd and 8th houses make a difference in how you earn, attract and interact with your own and others finances.
When I am in a lower vibration related to either my 2nd or 8th houses, I can quickly turn it around and begin to feel empowered and inspired by my ability to not only create but attract wealth into my life.
